Q: What if a location requires a photography permit for my photo session?

A: There are so many gorgeous locations here in Virginia that do not require a photography permit. However, I understand that some locations are sentimental. So if a location requires a photography it is my policy that clients are responsible for the acquiring photo permits.

Q: How many images will I get of my wedding?

A: This really depends on a lot of things. Due to the rapid pace and unpredictable nature of weddings, I can not guarantee a specific number of images. But the final number of images depends on how many hours of coverage you need, how many details you have, the size of your wedding party, the length of your ceremony, and other factors, but I typically hand over between 50-100 images per hour.

Q: Do I get the digital files from my wedding?

A: Yes, in fact you will get two copies. I give you the digital negatives (high-resolution files) on a USB drive. These files are large and designed for printing purposes. With your digital negatives you will receive copyright information, a print release, and tips on how to archive your photos. I also give you a full set of web-ready files that are delivered to you via an on-line gallery.

A: Absolutely! I offer a complimentary engagement sessions in all of my complete wedding collections. This is the perfect time for us to get to know each other in addition to creating gorgeous engagement photographs.

Q: Do you offer wedding albums?

A: I offer custom heirloom albums in a variety of colors and materials and every album is design by me. Albums are discounted 25% when bundled into a wedding collection.  The albums can also be purchased independently from the collections at full price.

Q: What is your ordering policy?

A: Full payment of an order is due at the end of the design consultation unless a payment plan is agreed upon and a deposit of half of the order is paid at the design consultation. If a payment plan is agreed upon. Orders will NOT be submitted for print until they are paid in full. Orders that are placed six months after the portrait session or wedding date will incur and archival fee.

Q: What if I need to reschedule my portrait session?

A: Due to all of the unplanned “things” in life, Portrait Session clients are allowed to reschedule their session one time with 48 hours notice. If the client reschedules their session a second time, the retainer is forfeited and a new retainer will be required to reserve the new date. Kristen requests that clients arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time of their session. Showing up late will result in a loss of scheduled shooting time.

Q: What is your background and experience?

A: I am a third generation photographer!  I am mostly self taught along with guidance from my parents.  I have also taken some college photography courses along the way.  I am always doing research,  reading,  and learning about photography whether it is through online material or a book. I love to network with other photographers of all levels, near and far. The real-life lessons learned from other professionals are invaluable! I am also a member of Profession Photographers of America (PPA) and Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI). I officially started by business in January of 2013!
